Theresa Thomason

Theresa Thomason’s vocal talent emerged in her youth, singing in church. Her repertoire expanded to jazz, pop, and R&B, with a career-defining victory at the world-famous Apollo Theater inspiring her love for the stage.

She has headlined sold-out concerts across the U.S. and over 170 European cities, where she spent 17 years performing in a theatrical concert she wrote and produced. Her career spans over two decades, including performances and recordings with eight-time Grammy Award winner Paul Winter. As a featured artist with the Paul Winter Consort, she regularly performs at the renowned Winter Solstice and Earth Mass events at New York’s Cathedral of St. John the Divine, with several appearances airing on NBC and PBS.

On Broadway, Thomason starred in the musical Hot Feet, featuring the music of Earth, Wind & Fire and directed by Maurice Hines. She returned to the Apollo Theater in 2012 to perform in Jazz A La Carte alongside Wycliffe Gordon, Savion Glover, and Maurice Hines. The Wall Street Journal hailed it as “the best jazz event.”

Theresa performed at ASCAP’s fourth annual event at the United States Library of Congress, celebrating America’s most distinguished creators of popular music, honored by members of Congress.

Her collaborations span a wide range of artists and genres, including Stevie Wonder, Brazilian superstars Renato Braz and Ivan Lins, and Puerto Rican icon Danny Rivera. She continues to tour globally across the U.S., Europe, Canada, the Caribbean, New Zealand, and Alaska, performing with her band, as well as in jazz duos and trios. Her extensive discography includes several released recordings, with a new album forthcoming.

Theresa also collaborates with artists from the Apollo Theater and Riverside Church in Harlem, working with choirs and international promoters to bring diverse musical styles to audiences worldwide. Her mission focuses on community, uniting people through energy and artistic expression.
